2008 Olympics

Haven't the Olympics been awesome this year? I am a little surprised that I am saying that, because for some reason I just didn't really get into the games in Sydney. This year I have been watching it every night. When it comes to the Olympics, thank God for the DVR! I have loved the fencing, volleyball, gymnastics, and of course the swimming. Michael Phelps is amazing. The national anthem gets me every time! The thing that I love the most is the behind the scenes stories of the dedication of the athletes. Their dedication and commitment is pretty incredible. As I look at the athletes, I think what could all of us accomplish in our lives with that kind of passion? As you live out your days, may you strive for excellence in all you do and determine to make your life count. Go USA!

The Highlight of my Week
I love Sundays. They have become one of my favorite days of the week. I know that sounds a little weird for a pastor to say, but that hasn't always been the case. In my past ministry positions, Sunday was filled with two services combined with different meetings and just a whole lot of busyness. It made for a very long day. Now it's a time to hang out with people in the cafe, have a great service, connect with new people at lunch, and just chill out for the rest of the day! I sleep so well on Sunday nights, because I am so grateful to God for all He did in the service that day and the stress of getting everything ready is behind me. What's your favorite day of the week and why?

Loving Life
It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over, but I have to say that it's been a great one. I have been completely blown away by all that God has been doing at Eaglepointe these last few weeks. Each week we are not only seeing people come to Christ, but new families are connecting to the church as well. I have loved speaking on "The Pursuit of Joy", and I feel that God has really encouraged many in our church through this study. Last Sunday, we had one of our largest attended services, and it just left me extremely excited about what God has for us this fall. I think it is no coincidence that since we started having a weekly prayer meeting that incredible things have been happening. As we continue to love God and love people, I know that this fall is going to be awesome. I can't wait! Being a part of this is a total blast.
