Eagle Pointe Students
Teenagers are so awesome. Tonight I was reminded once again why I have given the last 15 years of my life to working with students. We just had our student life group a few hours ago here at my house, and it was a total blast. God has started to do some amazing things in their lives. When we arrived here as lead pastors of Eagle Pointe this last May, there was no ministry in place for students. This broke our hearts, so on November 28th we launched our first youth home group. We have been growing every week, and last week we had 17 packed into our living room! Tonight, we hung out and ate together, spent some time in worship and Bible study, and ended the night playing the board game "Scene It"(The guys destroyed the girls!). The reason for my excitement is because I see the seeds that are being planted in their lives, and I know that God is up to something big in their lives. The other reason I love working with students so much is that they simply make me laugh. Tonight, we threw out an ice-breaker question about what funny things that parents do when they get angry. We all shared stories of parents gritting their teeth when they talked or wierd hand gestures, but the best testimony was from Daniel sharing that he knows that he is in trouble when his mom begins to talk really fast in Portuguese!(She is from Brazil) That was hilarious.
