FACING YOUR GIANTS IN A REAL WORLD

As we walk through this journey we call "Life", I feel that often times we separate our lives into compartments. Unfortunately, we can sometimes do that in relationship with God. How many times have you heard a sermon or teaching on Sunday to not remember the true message on Monday and fail to apply it to your daily life?
A sad confession that I have to make is that even pastors can passionately share a teaching or message and not live it out in the real world. One week ago, I began a new series titled, "Facing Your Giants" that was centered around the story of David and Goliath, and the key point given was that God will do the same for you in whatever giant or challenge that you are facing. Right after service, I headed to the airport to fly back to Houston to speak at CT Church for graduation Sunday and to repair some things around our house as we get it ready to sale. Things went really well, and it has been awesome to see my family again since we have been apart while my son was finishing up school. We are beyond excited about where God is leading us, but to say that our life is in transition is a major understatement. Before I even realized it, my mind was filled with all sorts of stress and worry about the house selling, questions about where we'll live and what school our kids would attend and all the things we need to accomplish at the church. As I was stressing over all this for a few days, I felt the still, small voice of God say, "This is a real life Giant in your life right now. Will you trust me?" I, of course, told God "yes", and I determined that this will serve as a great learning experience for me. The bottom line is this: Life is hard, and we all face different kinds of stress, difficulty, and challenges, but the important to remember is that you and God can conquer anything this life throws your way. Just like God delivered David's giant into his hands, He will help you overcome the obstacles in your life. Let God reveal himself to you in fresh ways this week as you face your own giants in the real world.
